SAP Doesn’t ‘Get’ Twitter…
I currently subscribe to around 10 SAP RSS feeds, which is okay, although due to the nature of SAP and its modular approach to software; items are cross-posted to various RSS feeds meaning that I see a lot of duplication.
Now SAP have started to use Twitter, but their approach to it is to just [...]
Paul’s Favourite Windows Mobile Software
Below is a list of software that I am currently running on my Windows Mobile device (HTC Touch HD).
I will keep this list updated. Feel free to comment.
All software is freeware unless otherwise specified.
HTC Hot Fixes (all need to be re-installed if you hard-reset the phone)
.net Compact Framework 3.5. Some of the program listed below [...]
Got the new Mobile – and have entered another 6 hour Adventure Race!
A nice Royal Mail courrier knocked on my door this morning and handed me an HTC Touch HD.
I carefully unwrapped it, took it to work and charged it at my desk. Then I called O2 and got the on the ’special’ number discussed here http://www.modaco.com/content/blackstone-blackstone-modaco-com/278122/unlimited-web-on-o2-can-you-use-for-other-apps/. I was in a queue for about 30 seconds, then [...]
Finally – Life in HD!
After Sky messing up a couple of times (my first installation was due on 2nd October), I’ve finally got SkyHD up and running. Bring on 24 and Battlestar Galactica!
I’ve also had confirmation from mobiles.co.uk that my HTC Touch HD order has been processed, so I should get it on Monday.
New Mobile Phone on the Way (HTC Touch HD)
I’ve ordered the HTC Touch HD from mobiles.co.uk.
It was out of stock when I ordered it (Thursday) but is now showing as in stock, so I should get it in a few days.
It is based on Windows Mobile 6.1, has a decent screen (resolution of 480×800) and a 528MHz processor (the iPhone has a 400MHz [...]
New Home Switch (hub)
I’ve just got the D-Link DGS-1005D 5 port Gigabit switch for home use. I plugged it in and it is working fine – as it should. Plus it uses their new ‘Green Ethernet‘ technology which claims to use up to 44% less energy, which is a good thing.
I’m using it to replace the Netgear equivellant [...]
I’ve got a new Home PC!
Every couple of years I upgrade my PC. With the exception of my very first PC (a 486DX2 66MHz with 4MB’s RAM) I have upgraded/built the PC myself. It doesn’t work out any cheaper, it just means that I can custom pick every component that goes into it.
A couple of weeks ago I upgraded to:

The Whole Christmas and New Year Thing…
I don’t like Christmas.
First of all, I prefer to write ‘xmas’ because the word ‘Christmas’ is too long is too religious for my liking.
I’m not a Scrooge by any means, but I don’t like the xmas period because:
It’s a religious holiday and I’m an atheist. I haven’t met a single person who I would consider [...]
Received: Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart Server EX475)
I got my Windows Home Server yesterday and so far I am very impressed with it!
At the moment I just have it next to my PC, but although it isn’t very noisy, I will probably put out of my bedroom and into a spare bedroom.
The only negative about it right now is that it doesn’t [...]
Just Ordered: Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart Server EX475)
I’ve ordered the HP MediaSmart Server EX475 which is a Windows Home Server.
The main reasons I’ve ordered it are to:
Keep ‘proper’ and regular backups of all of my PC’s (currently 1 x Vista PC, 1 x XP laptop and 1 x Ubuntu PC)
Stream content (videos, pictures and music) to PC’s while my main PC [...]
