Received: Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart Server EX475)

I got my Windows Home Server yesterday and so far I am very impressed with it!

At the moment I just have it next to my PC, but although it isn’t very noisy, I will probably put out of my bedroom and into a spare bedroom.

The only negative about it right now is that it doesn’t fully support client PC’s with Vista 64 bit at the moment! That is shocking as Vista 64 bit has been out for over a year now. However this will soon be fixed with a ‘Power Pack’ that will be available for the server soon. I think I might install the Power Pack 1 Release Candidate.

I’ve installed a few add-ins, my favourite of which so far is LobsterTunes. With that, I was at my parents house yesterday and was able to stream music and video from my WHS to my mobile phone (running Windows Mobile 6) via wLAN and the Internet – very impressive!
