Just Ordered: Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart Server EX475)

I’ve ordered the HP MediaSmart Server EX475 which is a Windows Home Server.

The main reasons I’ve ordered it are to:

  • Keep ‘proper’ and regular backups of all of my PC’s (currently 1 x Vista PC, 1 x XP laptop and 1 x Ubuntu PC)
  • Stream content (videos, pictures and music) to PC’s while my main PC is off
  • Centralise file storage, so I can access all of my files (word documents, Excel, photographs, etc.) from any PC in my house, or from anywhere in the world via a web browser

My dad ordered one at the same time and my friend Martin has also just ordered one!
